I believe this topic was posted not to long ago. I couldn't find the thread so Ill start another...
What is your tank testing schedule ?
Just out of curiosity, some of my friends tend to test certain parameters more often than others. Im guessing this all depends on how heavily stocked your tank is, correct ?

I test alkalinity on a weekly basis, it can get thrown off pretty quickly with devastating results.

I should say not as often as I should...

I typically test right before I manually does. Which probably should happen more often...

Id say at least once a week, if not every few days on average. Unfortunately there are those times where it has gone a couple weeks to a month without testing or dosing, but those are extremes that are not good.

weekly for everything unless I am dosing Then I test daily till I meet my goal for what I am dosing

I try to check my alkalinity every day. Mainly because I have found it to be the only thing that fluctuates so I buffer a couple of times a week to keep it where I want it.

Alkalinity and calcium weekly, nitrates and phosphates monthly. Ph everyday by controller. Magnesium need to buy a test kit but do 20g water changes weekly to replenish it.

Following along, in the process of starting my tank and was wondering the same thing.

Alkalinity weekly. Calcium weekly. Magnesium Monthly. Phosphates, nitrates once in a blue moon. If anything is not looking right in the tank or if I tweak the calcium reactor, then more often.
