My wife thinks It's funny since I got into reefing. I don't use my stereo or TV when I get off work I plot myself right on the stool in front of my tank.. it's a sickness I tell you.

Hey I just thought about it but this tank I took it down to polish the inside and I use the novus polish... I did a really good job of rinsing but could this contribute to the zinc in the tank?

I wouldn't worry about it if all the nems seem fine. Just keep up with WCs. There should be some (trace) elements (zinc, iron, etc) in SW for things to be healthy, those all come from our salt-mixes though, too much (from tap water, chemicals, etc) is what is not good.

consider using RODI (just add on a deionization filter), whats the TDS of your RO water?

just` got my TDS tester!!!!! i had no clue my fam was drinking that water!!!!my base water is 394!!!! 3 tests on RO give me 7 and test after install of DI filter i sit at 0 tyvm man... I am very mindful on when and how i put my hands in the tank. i have two buckets to wash in rinse in ro water.. no fish deaths and water look amazing... Thanks for all your input guys

Consider making a bypass around the DI resin when flushing / turning on the unit for the first minute. You will save a ton of money on di resin
