I’m thinking of getting Hanna checker to do my testing. Witch test is most important to get? I know nitrate and alkalinity is the first I’ll get. Right now I have a fish only but as my tank matures I want to do corals. Any suggestions. I have the Red Sea test kit but it’s difficult to get accurate

You can wait on getting the alkalinity checker until you decide to get corals.

Hanna makes a nitrite checker which isn’t that useful for saltwater.

Phosphate is another useful one to get.

Salinity tester is pretty good too.

If you are going to have coral, you will want ALK, Ca, Mg, Phosphate, PH, and Nitrate tests IMO. By that point, you won't have a use for ammonia or nitrite tests unless you are experiencing a major problem (I haven't tested for either in almost two years).
