I'm setting up my quarantine tank and have a 29 gallon tank, three 3" PVC connectors, heater, light, and lid but am getting flummoxed by the filtration.

I'm planning on putting a HOB filter for a 50 gallon tank (200 gph) on this since it fits the lid. Is that enough turnover? I have one that does 300, but it'll require some modifications. I was also thinking about getting a small WaveMaker if recommended.

Finally, anyone use the new Top Fin Pro products? I like the double sponge compared to the Fluval/Aquaclear.

A 50g HOB filter for a 29g tank should be sufficient for filtration. A powerhead in there as well will create some water movement to keep detritus in the water column to be filtered out.
