Hello Again,
I have a very funny Question. Has anyone ever used Rain Water? I just went outside and we are getting a ton of rain here. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to use this for their tanks. I was thinking why let this go to the plants.... Just a thought.

Rain water can carry tons of pollutants. In an especially heavy rainy season, after a few days of rain, I suppose you could collect rain water and it'd probably be safe to use, again, after a few days. The first few days of rain would, hopefully, wash most of the pollutants from the air. However, I think it'd be much more trouble than it's worth.

Before the popularity of RO/DI units, rain water was collected, for FW hobbyists who were breeding certain fish, such as Tetras. Then it was filtered through Peet, to soften the water. I used it occasionally, when breeding Neon Tetras.
