It was a difficult choice between the Waterbox 10, the IM 10, and the Fiji 10.

Clearly the IM 10 comes with a better (?) Mighty Jet DC pump with controller which lists separately for around $100 and a media basket.

The Fiji offers a refugium to hang on the back. But that adds around ~$250?

As I have not see all three side by side, can't tell if one has a significantly better appearance or build quality.

The Waterbox 10 came well packed, arrived on time, and as to the build quality I can see no flaws or imperfections.

The accessories like the bio balls and bio matrix are probably really not worth including. Marine Pure balls or blocks?

I saw an experiment (BRS?) that plastic bio balls host little to no helpful bacteria.

Same with the carbon. Nice if they could include something like Chemi-Blue Nano or similar. Product placement.

Pretty well known that the pump would be questionable, and it was, even noisy for mixing the first batch of salt.

The supplied pump has been replaced with a Cobalt Aquatics MJ MINI 606.

The top mounted power connection allows the MJ MINI 606 to hang off the return tube not touching the bottom or the sides.

Not a whole lot of pump choices that will fit in the Waterbox 10 pump area. And I could not find a fancy DC pump like the Mighty Jet.

The MJ MINI 606 is quiet by any measure.

At a true 159 gph (600 l/h) the weir from the display just barely keeps up. The supplied pump is rated at 159 gph … ...

In other words, much more than 159 gph and the display would over flow.

The flow in has to match the flow out.

Display water level rises significantly and the water levels in the AOI area drop significantly at 159 gph.

I would say a couple more cuts in the back for water return would be helpful.

I might reduce the return pump flow and add some additional display flow.

Another small issue a lot of water bypasses the filter sock due to a loose fit of the plate the holds the filter sock.

Either a feature or a bug. Hard to say.

Coming up on 3 months, will report more then.

Still waiting to see if I end up with an Octopus's Garden, or Boston Harbor … at low tide.

so the mighty jet for sure fits in the back of the waterbox? It doesn’t touch the sides (I’m sure it’s tight... if it fits).
