So my local store has recommend I install 2 x hydra 32HD lights, will have a mixed reef with fish. Probably wont hit the SPS coral for now as only starting up my first tank. So will stay with some of the more simple corals ect.. would you recommend any other brands? I know there are some really top end lights if money was never an issue. So please help a newby out.

I'm no expert, but Radion xr30 or even 2 xr 15's would probably do you go on that size tank. I use Radions and their great.
-sorry if this didn't help any.

Following this.
I have a waterbox x110 coming and I am perplexed on what lighting to get.
Its a 4 foot 21 deep.
As like you if money was not an issue no problem also have the same goals softies and fish. I would also be looking for easy programming.
After looking for weeks on end I am still in the same place !
Just don't know what to get.
I have been looking at the Photon 48 V2 looks great programming seems hard good price and good warranty then lower on the list is the current usa package where you get the lights wave pumps and main pump and its blue tooth seems easy programming for less then 900. Then all the higher priced lights where I would have to buy 2 plus the mounting for them.
As I said kinda still where I'm started.
Big money for something that might or might not be right.

Well i do know lights is number 1 of your going to spend money its on the light's! However ive been told a 3ft tank and 4ft 2 x hydra 32s would be more than enough. But wondering if Ai 16hd would be fine or not.

After your post I did a quick look and yes they seem good programming not bad it seems but it seems they have some quality control issues with the lights not working because a plug comes off or something.
Did you look at the Photon V2's?

Brs did a par per dollar video and if i remember right, ai 16 hd we're the highest.

I run a 48" aquatic life t5/led hybrid with 2 hydra 32s on my display. On my 29 biocube frag tank I run a single hydra 32... Sure I could have done a single 16, but more power! The t5 on the main tank eliminates shadowing and I can grow in all parts of my tank. The t5 alone would hit your goals and it's less than one hydra 32. Mine goes in a hood, so appearance might be something to consider though if your going open top. I wouldn't mind it though. Could also take a look at the ap9x and photon v2. If you are open top, pick fish that don't tend to jump. Kids don't like finding dead fish on the floor, significant others either..

I haven't used radions. I am certain they work well, I just can't validate the expense.

I'm a fan of ai so far for the features and how simple the app is. I downloaded a bunch of lighting profiles and settled on the ab+ profile. Looks really nice too me.

Hydras are high end lights, I always recommend T5 though :)

I really like the Photon V2s from what I read anyway
I was going for a more longer light then 2 lights on my 48
