Waterbox 100.3 power head placement

Hello all - getting ready to place a second MP 40 into my new 100.3 build - currently just mixed SPS and LPS - has anyone used this setup and where did they place the PH? I know evey tank is different - just looking at what others may have done and the success (or lack thereof) they've had.

Left side towards top about middle. Can move it of course if needed. I have a lot of rock. Thx

Then I'd suggest either the right side so they work against each other to create good random flow. Or on the back of the tank on the right side so the flow of the 2 pumps meet at a 90 degree angle.

Thanks for your suggestion. Wasn't sure if both placed on back was an option

Sure it is. I have a wavemaker on either side of my center overflow and recently added one on the side glass. But then I'm a big fan of more flow is better than not enough flow.

Indeed. What mode(s) are you set at and how are they paired. I'm currently running reef mode

I don't use MP40's. I have 2 Jebao pumps on the back wall and a Coral Box low profile on the side glass. All 3 run in a wavemaker mod with a fairly short cycle to make waves. They are all about 1/3 to 1/4 of the way down into the tank (about 5 or 6" in a 20" deep tank). the back 2 are aimed up just a bit to make surface agitation. The side one can only point straight out into the tank.

I also have 4 nozzles on my return from the sump and that pump runs at 900gph, so I get reasonably good flow from them and they are all aimed slightly down into the tank.

Currently I have 2 tanks. A 16g RFA breeding tank and a 90g (36x30x20) DT that I built myself. This pic is from back when I was just finishing it. The little 5g at the right is just a temporary holding tank. The DT doesn't have the wavemakers in it yet and the rockscape has been changed a lot!
