Waterbox 100.3 Stocking Recommendations

Hi all, I am planning my stocking list for the new tank being setup and have several ideas and need advice. The tank is a 100 gallon ( 70 DT and 30 Sump) System. With 3*2*2 feet dimensions.

1. 20 Astrea Turbo Snails
2. 2 Cleaner Shrimp
3. A Pair of Juvenile Darwin Clowns
4. A Royal Gramma
5. A Diamond Watchman Goby
6. A Yellow Coris Wrasse

These additions are must haves for me and the below are what I like and need advice on whether these would be good additions or bad and potential alternatives as well please

1. A Blue tang (Start with Juvenile and rehome him once he is bigger)
2. Lubbocki Fairy Wrasse
3. Carpenters Flashers Wrasse
4. Orchid Dottyback
5. Sunburst Anthia
6. 2 Leopard Wrasses
7. A Bristletooth tang
8. A foxface ( only one of the foxface, BT tang or Blue tang will be added)

I would probably just take the blue tang off. Those dudes are a PITA to get out of a tank, like to fit in the smallest rocks and cracks. A bristletooth would be good though! Foxfaces get big but not as active as tangs. I dont know about the wrasses, I only have one lol. @Slocke and @i cant think would be good to ask!

I would probably just take the blue tang off. Those dudes are a PITA to get out of a tank, like to fit in the smallest rocks and cracks. A bristletooth would be good though! Foxfaces get big but not as active as tangs. I dont know about the wrasses, I only have one lol. @Slocke and @i cant think would be good to ask!

Thanks, Yeah I have witnessed firsthand the Blue Tang Shenanigans. I am completely happy to go no Tangs in the tank. But will need some movement in my water column. If I can manage to add 4-5 Wrasse with clowns and RG, I will be set. But the wrasse hierarchy seems complicated.

Wouldn’t put wrasse or the royal gramma together with a dottyback. I suggest 2 different species of leopard wrasse.

Thanks mate, I will have to see what kind of leopards we get here. Would it be ok to keep a Yellow Coris, Carpenters and Lubbocki in the same tank and then add 2 different Leopards?

So it would be: A pair of clowns, Coris, Carpenters, Lubbocki, Diamond Goby, RG and Sunburst Anthia for 6-8 months and then eventually add the Leopards once my tank is matured.

I would try and add the leopards before the Halichoeres wrasse (yellow is Halichoeres wrasse not Coris, coris are giant not reef safe wrasse)

Ohh thanks for that, I would have added the yellow as my first fish. Good to know, would you add the other two wrasse ?

It is, exactly why I call the experts in! @Slocke helped me pick my one wrasse, the rainbow! He is pretty.

@Slocke @i cant think @littlefoxx. Need some more suggestions. I’ve been doing rounds of our local LFS and seeing what we usually can get in terms of wrasses.

These are some of the wrasses I like the look of and are usually available.

1. Lubbock Fairy Wrasse (Cirrihilabrus Lubbocki)
2. Exquisite Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus Exquistus)
3. Ruby Head Wrasse ( Cirrhilabrus cf cyanopleura)
4. Carpenter Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus carpenteri)
5. Yellow Wrasse ( Halichoeres chrysus)
6. Long Fin Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubeus)
7. Red Head Solon. ( Cirrhilabrus solorensis)

Would all these go well with a pair of Leopard Wrasse, 2 Juvenile clowns, Royal Gramma and Dimaond Goby. Inverts wise, I will have astrea snail, cleaner shrimp, maybe urchins and one clam.

Only yellow wrasse and carpenters are must haves, the others if not suitable I am happy to drop from that list.

Just don’t mix the cyanopleura and solerensis (actually usually an aquamarinus)
