Hey Everyone,

I've had my Waterbox 100.3 setup for almost a year now as a mixed reef setup. its been doing well and now that its' been almost a year I am starting to think about maintenance.

do I need to clean the sump filter sponge that comes with the Waterbox sump? or leave it alone? I was thinking of taking it out and soaking it in a water/bleach solution for about 20 min....
it seems to be made of some type of plastic so not sure if bleach will be ok or not?

thoughts?

Thanks,
James Bishop

If I understand your question correctly, I would lean toward rinsing it on a regular basis (without the bleach) in order to remove any large detritus or anything else clogging the sponge pores and blocking flow.
