Incredible looking tank. I love tanks that are so different than a typical reef tank. How hard was it to find all of those different macro algaes?

It's very hard to find algae, much less new ones that we haven't seen yet! But I'm still trying to get some from Australia as they have some really interesting ones.

Got a bit bored tonight and decided to snap some quick pics of the tank during feeding time.

Feeding takes about 30-40 Minutes.

I first dose a good amount of phytofeast to cloudy up the tank and get everything to open up. Then I dose some R.O.E / Tigger Feast / Brine Shrimp for all the fishes, shrimps, and crabs. Finally I dose a mixture of Roti Feast / Reef Roid, or Oyster Feast; this help feed all filter feeders.

That is a shame about the beautiful feather dusters. Tank still looks incredible though.

So I have some sad news today..

A few days ago my Sea Apple decided to have a bowel movement (pictured here)

The waste from the Sea Apple dropped on my Feather Duster and absolutely destroyed them! Everything else is fine though.

On a happier note... I did do a thorough cleaning of the tank and took a FTS!

I'm hoping to add some more inverts / Gobies into the tank this weekend so keep an eye out for some new livestocks!

Woah! Who would have guessed that would have been that toxic! Hopefully they recover!

Yeah that makes sense. I wanted one, but just recently got a very small arrow crab... who has a taste for pineapple sponges. Oh well. He
super tiny and fun to watch!

Sorry for the lack of update guys! I've been busy with the tax season / work so I've been neglecting the tank.

I did finally get the chance to clean up the tank a little bit and did some pictures though!

Your tank is incredible. I thought that the feather starfish was hard to keep? Are you doing anything special to keep it so happy? Wonderful thread, really enjoy the diversity of your tank.

Surprisingly I have only seen GHA when I first started the tank, it went away after I added some Blue leg Hermit and I believe the macro algae out-compete the microalgae for nutrient to prevent it from growing.

Love the build is perfect I notice you svitch from nero-5 to mp-40 look like.

One of the main reason I switched was because there's a anemone cover for the Mp40 that prevent my fish from getting sucked in through the back of the Nero-5.

So it's been pretty hectic here and I've neglected the tank for the last 2 weeks.

A problem I was having was with Cyanobacteria growing over everything in the tank. It started in one spot a few weeks back and it has been slowly spreading throughout the tank, so I decided to use Chemiclean a few days ago and it has since destroyed any Cyanobacteria!

My phosphate has been kept below 0.20 and have not seen any other nuisance algae beside Bubble algae, but even that grows very slowly in this tank. So hopefully cyanobacteria wont come back!

Here are some pictures after an overhaul of the tank today!

Colony of Colochirus robustus resting on my String of Pearl Algae. They've been reproducing asexually like mad in here.

Today I added a very exciting addition to the tank!

A white Sea Apple from Australia

I've been waiting a few weeks now for this to finally come in, fingers crossed that it'll do great in this tank!

I moved a few corals around and added a small gorg on this rock, the amount of life on it is ridiculous!

There are a few more items I added but they're all hiding right now. I will have to try to get them sometime this week, so keep an eye out for the next update!

Well I've decided to remove the black background on the tank, it was quite a task since I had only 4" of clearance behind the tank to work with!

I really like the result though, what do you guys think?
