Hello, first time poster here! I am new to the hobby and am currently waiting for my waterbox 20 cube to arrive. Until then i want to really do my research and take my time with it. As a beginner i want to eventually have a pair of clowns in there and some hardy corals as well. My question is about flow, should i chunk out the extra cash andget a Nero 5 or a mp10 or should i go with a koralia nano?

Hey i have the same tank and am currently using aqamai kps pump in it in a mixed reef but want a bit more flow so have a jebao cp-25 gyre pump on the way.

What is most important for you is to decide what kind of reef tank you want. Hard corals need more flow than soft or Lps corals and soft and lps cant take too much beating from too powerful powerhead.
Nero or Mp10 would fit it nicely as you can adjust their output but there are certanly cheaper options that will do the job greatly.

Often its better to have two smaller pumps than one big one so you can control the flow in the tank better.
Two Tunze Turbelle nano 6040 would run you about the same as those two pumps you mentioned but would give you much better control over the flow in the tank and Tunze are one of the best names in the buissness.

I Was also looking at the tunze 6040. I actually like that idea more of running 2 pumps instead. Ill either go the same route you are using right now and if i need the extra flow throw in another pump. Thank you for the info!

Think about Updating your return pump.
Then couple that with a RFG

I think this is the key. I upgraded mine to a pretty beefy sicce pump, and then had a single Nero 5 and had probably my most successful tank overall.
