Hello,

I am getting a waterbox 20 with the stand. I am planning to keep it in a room with carpeted floor. Recommendation for larger tanks(100+ gallons) are not to keep in carpet. But can I keep a smaller tank(20G) in a carpeted floor? I am in a rented place, so I do not have the option of cutting out the carpet.

Thanks

I dont see why not. I have had tanks on carpeted floors many times. Is it ideal no? The carpet could get wet from accidents or doing water changes but other than that.

If you're using one of the name brand auto top offs, you're much less likely to run into flooding too. Since you have an AIO tank and no sump, there's a much smaller chance of flooding. Be careful during water changes and when youre moving things in and out of the tank and the drops will just evaporate. Keep a wet/dry vac for when you mess up. Lol youll probably mess up a few times.

All my tanks fior the last 20 years have been on carpet. Everything from a 10G nano up to a 150G. Other then some water on the carpet from time to time, not sure what the issue is with carpet? Sure it degrades the carpet over time from all the weight, and it's pretty much garbage after you remove the tank, but the tank itself is fine to sit on the carpet.
