I just received a waterbox 20 and I am seconding guessing my stand options. I was going to use a good furniture store end table made of oak- 4 legs and really solid. But will this hold a 20 gallon?
I am not handy so I can’t build something on my own and most stands/furniture is now particle board and I don’t know what is a good option.
Any recommendations or stands you like that won’t break the bank.
the tank will be in my living room so it needs to look presentable.
thanks!

A 20g tank is an easy 200lbs when filled, so the end table needs to be a solid piece of furniture. Definitely don’t use particle board, if it gets wet it will start to fall apart.

know its prob to late but I put mine on a 24gallon jbj stand $99 bucks

How is that stand working out for you?

I love it. I'm not running a sump so space was not In issue. I'm not gonna lie and say price was not a factor but both me and my significant other both agree we like how this stand looks better than the waterbox stand or any flush stand. We really enjoy the look of the stand and the lip in front. I was nervous about it looking off being on a curved stand but the front corners of the tank sit flush with the front curved corners like the corners of the fish tank don't petrude i was nervous about this.
The tank does hang off stand in back about 1/4 " but again not an issue.
If you didn't know any better you would think the stand was made for the tank.
And my SO is very particular on how things look and sit!!! If she approves most will.

For inside the stand so you get an idea of space. I'm running 1 gallon a.t.o 2 1/2 gallon alk/calc 2 dosers pumps toms aqualifter, 4 plug dj strip, algae reactor, and my RKL and still have room for food and such...

Looks nice and clean. Do you have a thread on your build?

Thanks not yet... have a little something posted on my local club but thats it. Still waiting on some equipment and then I'll post one up.

Yes agree here with the other contributors.
No particleboard.

I would look around at used furniture stores or donation outlets.
If price is a consideration.

Just check it out well. Put your hand on top of the cabinet you find, put as much weight on it as you can and see if you can wiggle it at all.
If you can then pass on it and keep looking.
