Waterbox 20g bulkhead issues?

On the 3rd day of this new tank I had to take the pump out and clean it as it started making terrible noises. Doing so caused the return bulkhead nozzle to strip it’s plastic threads due to only having one or two threads to screw into the return tube going to the pump.

Has anyone had this issue and are there any upgrades/ changes I can do to avoid this again?

The stock pump never stopped making terrible grinding noises, I replaced it with an old Marineland MJ1200, which also makes awful noise.

I’m deciding between a Sicce Silent 1.0 or an IM MightyJet DC pump. Any thoughts?

Sicce makes good reliable quiet pumps. Never had a problem.
