Well its time to start my new build thread. I took down the anemone tank and sold it and the clowns. On Waterbox's 'Blue Friday' I won a $250.00 gift certificate. (Thanks to Jake Adams for reading out my name). I decided I would order one of the 28.2 Marine AIO tanks and use it as a frag/shallow tank. Some of my LPS are outgrowing their spaces in the RSR 250, primarily the trachy and my Frammer. The Space Invader could use a bit of space to stretch its tentacles out as well. I needed a safe space for my remaining Derasa Clam. I have some creepy, killer worm in there that ate a 3" Derasa overnight)
It took me a month or so to decide what I wanted to put the tank on and ultimately went with the Waterbox black stand. Tank and stand shipped undamaged. I was missing 2 pieces of the stand and I had them within a few days, during Xmas week no less. I was able to pay to have 2nd day air shipping, as I had taken time off to get this system up and running.
Equipment List:
Waterbox 28.2 Marine AIO
Waterbox 2424 black stand
Hydra 26HD
Cobalt Neotherm 150w heater
Aquatop Return pump (comes with the tank)
IM DC wave pump
Inkbird temp controller
Dry Rock & Live Sand - Still debating seeding from my main tank. They will share volume eventually, I plan to use my DOS to do a sort of AWC to move water between the systems each day.
One of the main reasons I went with the WB stand was I wanted to re-do my Apex set up. It was not working for me and I had an LDK to get set up. First thing I did after putting the stand together was to create a new equipment board for my Apex and other equipment.
Expanded PVC & a TV mounting stand
The 3-plug yellow GFI cord will be for my 3 Hydra 26's - Still haven't been able to get them connected to my Apex, but that is not a priority since I can control them on my phone.
Here is the layout of the tanks / working area. All I can say is I hope my landlord doesn't make any surprise visits as this is the first thing you see when you walk into the house. I do need to clean the area, but its a construction zone right now.
Since this tank will be for frags as well as some display I wanted to go minimal with the rocks. This stuff is crazy porous. This tank holds 27.2 gallons and after rock and sand I put 23 gallons of water into it.
It's clearing up some this morning.
More to come.
