**Edit - Sorry title should have read 45.2 Plus

After much consideration, and going back and fourth between RedSea and Waterbox, and after a complete swing from just getting a BioCube (that was a mouthful) I have decided on a WB Plus system. The ONLY concern I have is weight, I'm a worrier! I want this tank upstairs, because, I spend a lot of my time in my man cave, working or editing photos etc. I think it would be a waste downstairs, i'd never look at it! So upstairs it is. The question then becomes how much weight will a modern house take?

I plan on it being located in a corner at an angle, the corner it will go on is on the front and side of the house. So both exterior walls, It wont be flat against either wall (i think you get want I mean?) Budget does not come into this, if I can can get the 60.2 that's what I will get. Just wondering what kind of weight we are talking about when it full of water, rock and sand.

The common sense in me tells me I will be fine. I am guessing that it's gonna be 500lbs'ish? My worry though it that its not a bed, where the weight is distributed over a large area. This is all that weight (whatever it is) condensed into a small area.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

A gallon of water weighs about 8.3 pounds. Your 60+ gallons will weigh over 500 pounds. The tank, stand and rock will add some weight, but not that much. Being in a corner with 2 outside walls, I wouldn't be worried at all, especially in a newer house.

If you had 3 friends who each weighed 200 pounds over to your house and they all were all standing together in a group in the middle of that room, would you have the same concern? Probably not. Your worried because it's an aquarium. IMHO, it shouldn't be a problem.

We had a 75 gal plus sump
Upstairs as our first tank. No issues. You should be fine.

Decision made not to proceed with a tank upstairs. Currently waiting permission from the wife to let me have it downstairs! If the answer is yes, the next decision is a Marine 60.2 or 70,3 . That really is the wife's decision! Obviously I would like the 70.3 but that means it going in the middle of a wall and not in a corner!
