Hi All,

Im sure this has been posted before but cannot find anything in the search feature for this subject. I am in the process of getting my new Waterbox 70.2 Reef Tank set up and have run into an issue mounting the provided AI Hydra 26 Bracket. Waterbox has a built in glass overflow in the middle of the back of the tank with a removable glass top for the overflow. The mounting bracket for the light mounts in the middle of the overflow therefor the overflow lid does not fit on anymore. I cant imagine that Waterbox would sell a design like this that does not match up with the equipment that is sold with their product. As has been posted several times the instructions for the Waterbox setup are horrible/non existent so im hoping im overlooking something and there is an actual procedure waterbox has for mounting the light correctly. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to know the answer to this, too. I'm brainstorming a fix, but the mount doesn't seem to fit the tank.

Please post your fix when you get one!

I forget where I saw this, but I did read/view a review making mention of this issue. The solution: remove it or have your light off-centered. Yeah, I know. GL

I have contacted Waterbox support about the light fixture mount. Their recommendations:
  • Mount it and leave off the overflow cover
  • Or Modify the glass cover
I’m not inclined to do either. Nor do I think mounting the light sideways is an aesthetically viable option. Instead, I had to order a hanging mount separately.

There should be a footnote or warning by Waterbox to those people interested in this bundle, or they should offer an optional hanging bundle.

Anyone interested in buying an opened but unused AI mount?

I think I just said that. lol

Hey @chaseraider85, have you considered buying the HMS multi light mount kit? It mounts on the left and right, and could open up to you getting a second light one day.

I don't have one, but I'll be in the same situation as you, and the pictures I've seen make it look like it won't interfere with that or any third-party netting...

As an update: Waterbox sent me the new version of their overflow cover which has a notch for the light mount. I expect that they will include this with future sales of that bundle, but I do not have confirmation of that from them.

Unfortunately, I had already purchased the ceiling mount kit and hung the light from the ceiling. I’ll save the overflow cover for the time when I move the tank to a new location.
