So I decided to purchase my first real saltwater aquarium and went with the Waterbox AIO 65.4. It’s 48x19.7x17.7 and has an internal volume of 65 gallons. The glass is 2/5 or 10mm thick and rimless. In anticipation of my tank, I joined the FB group to see common mistakes/issues/tips people have with their waterboxes. I’ve come to see A LOT of people have bowing in their front glass from, usually 1/8th inch. They usually say they called waterbox and they told me them it was fine/normal and just to make sure the stand was level.

It was my understanding bowing should never happen in glass tanks, acrylic is okay to an extent. Is this something worth euro-bracing for peace of mind or I’m just overreacting? I also know you need to brace it within the edge of the tank and not just on top which makes it essentially a splash guard. Just a little annoyed overall it’s not 1/2 glass considering how expensive the tank is, it’s the same thickness as the AIO 35 and I think that’s ridiculous. I recently read they were going to add eurobraces to the larger series of tanks and wondering if it had become a concern internally. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Every month I read some bizarre thing with Waterbox tanks, and the seemingly obtuse reply from Waterbox customer support. Such that I probably wouldn't get one because their customer support seems to really suck.

I have a Red Sea Reefer, and while some of their tanks have had issues (mine hasn't) - Red Sea customer support has been phenomenal about replacing other equipment under warranty, such that I would probably not even consider another tank again.

So it’s bowing about 1/8th inch in the center compared to the ends. About in line with what I’ve seen with other waterbox owners, can’t believe people are comfortable with this. I know 1/8th doesn’t sound like much but yikes it shouldn’t bow a single mm.

Gonna have to lower her about 50% for the bow to disappear then silicone and let cure for a day or two. Good thing I only have clowns. The picture of the brace is when the glass is perfectly lined up on the corners.
