Waterbox Aquariums

I do have a Waterbox 135.4

I'm looking at getting the 75.2. Black Friday (week) deals marking $200 off. Did you get yours with the Loop system?

Waterbox is running a 10% off Black Friday sale this week.

So 75.2 + Loop would be $230 off and the 75.2 would be $160 off.
Got it, wasn't thinking about the Loop version. I bought mine just yesterday from Saltwater Aquarium, got 10% off + 5% rewards.

I own both, a reefer 170 and a waterbox 40.1 similar size tanks so a good comparison
IMO the Red Sea has a better design and construction. The cabinet is better built, it feels more solid and the door mechanism is smoother. The glass is thicker with tougher seams. And a little extra space for my dozers. My Reefer sump is small but still has more flexibility. There is a safety mechanism when my filter socks overflow. The ATO is tiny,

Don’t get me wrong I just love my waterbox. I was looking for an inexpensive solution to my exploding euphyllia garden. They needed a room of their own. My model has an external overflow which I love. This is still a quality tank. My model has a very small skimmer compartment, which severely limited my choices, likewise I had to be careful about my heater choices. The waterbox return valve was much harder to dial in .ut now that I finally have it, it is not as noisy. A dirty filter sock nearly caused my sump to overflow.
With all that being said, my waterbox is still a great little tank, it came with the wrong cover for the overflow, which the customer service promptly replaced. They were very responsive to all my questions.

With the larger new models, the compartment size is considerably larger and a lot of new options have been added... as far as cabinets, the new ones are off the charts... Plywood coated and extra stainless hinges...for all that equipment, the 40 is a small footprint, you have to remember that

Of course, any nano sized tank would have such limitations,

I also love my Waterbox, I have the 40.1
I mentioned the overflow section not having any cutouts/notches for an emergency overflow if the sock compartment clogged and asked if this was an overlook or design flaw, in their forum they replied that it was not and that it would take a "lot" of neglect for the sock to clog and overflow the compartment. Hopefully they redesigned the updated line.
I researched a bunch of skimmers for their footprint and wanted a DC motor skimmer and settled on the Skimz SN-127. Loving the versatility in adjustment for this skimmer. I had a new Cadlight PLS-100 skimmer lying around from my Artisan tank and tried that since the footprint was small enough, micro bubbles everywhere, loud and startup after feed halt would overflow the cup. Night and day with the Skimz.

Maybe a small fix to keep your sock from overflowing is to drill some small holes in the plastic that surrounds the sock, enabling water to exit if the sock does indeed get plugged up. This still will trap most of the water for filtration, just a thought if you are that worried. Thanks Frank

My sock was changed two days prior , I found the BRS shorties work well for me, allows for a stash of Matrix underneath

I am about to buy one, saw them at Living Reef in Orlando, wow these are so well constructed, the cabinets are outstanding and just like everything about them

OMG I was not trying to be negative..just my own experience with my own two tanks. Bottom line, I would recommend a Waterbox. I enjoy this tank immensely

How are they holding up? Due to space limitations thinking about a couple of the 10 gallon cubes or 20 gallon cubes for QT tanks. I know its pricey but I can fit regular 10 gallon tanks in my space.

Be awsome if I could get a coupon code or something since I need two.
