I keep forgetting to update on here. Tank is running strong. Full of corals and frags. Great little acan garden, zoas going well, started to get some encrusting happening with my sps as well. Ended up taking out the skimmer entirely. I tried at least 4 total before realizing none of them work well and it wasn't doing any good anyway. I'm now running an airstone with a pump sitting in an open window, that is keeping my pH up much better than the skimmer was.
Also now running an 8w UV sterilizer, installed it to beat the dinos, they started to come back when I took it off, and everything seems happy, so I'm keeping it on.
Parameters stay fairly stable with weekly water changes. I'm still buying pre-made salt water from my LFS, and they use instant ocean reef crystals. I finally got to the point I was needing to dose and started using tropic marin all for reef but my tank seems to use calcium faster so I'm looking at other options.
Typical parameters on this tank are
78.0°F
1.025 SG
9.0 Alk
410 calcium
1440 mag
8.2-8.4 pH
0.04-0.06 phosphate
10-20 nitrates

I'm starting to struggle with keeping my parameters stable, seeing a lot of coral growth and I'm still hand dosing every day. My next investment really needs to be setting this tank up with a dosing pump I think. Even 50% water changes twice a week isn't enough anymore, the tank is using about 1.5dKH a day of alkalinity

Yellow watchman, but very young. At some point he's going to outgrow this little cube but for right now he's great to watch with his pistol shrimp friend

did the 9001 fit perfect in that chamber? I am about to set my tank up. how are your chambers structured?Tunze 9001 protein skimmer and Duetto ATO installed
