Waterbox Cube 20

Hello humans, after lurking in reef2reef for a while I was bit by the reefing bug. I loved all the colors in the reefs @Jerm really inspired me to have a build thread about my tank. I've had a FW tank and I loved it. Now I'm getting into reefing.


My equipment list is:

-Waterbox cube 20
-Kessil tuna blue
-Ehime 100 wat heater
- hydra power head
- Coral life 32 stand
-Ice Cap nano skimmer
-Duetto ATO
-Syncara Silent 2.0

I don't have a lot of money so this build will be slow.

If you are not getting corals straight away, you could save on the light and just go straight for the Kessil when you start with corals.

Depending your room temp, I would go for at least 100w, 2x50w or 2x75w.

Hey John! Looking forward to following along on your build. Check out my build thread when you have a minute. I've got a Waterbox 20 cube as well and if/when you start to look for upgrades I'd be happy to share some advice.

What are you doing for a stand?

I built my own stand. I needed something custom so I could house a 20 gallon RO reservoir tank underneath it that would supply top off water to this tank as well as my 150 gallon that is on the other side of the wall that my 20 gallon is up against.

For a stand im using a study ikea stand.

I want to get a ATO system do i need to have it before I start or can I wait.

You can start without it if you are sure to keep a close eye. I had mine up a week before the ATO came. I was having to manually add about 10-12 oz twice a day to keep up with evaporation. So it is a pain without the ATO and if you get busy and forget for a day or two you may have some problems.

ok so i will get a lid later and i wont have the ato for awhile im also my well water is so clean im doing it with out a rodi. and i will use a maker and draw the water line and refill each time it goes down.

the ato resivors are way to expencive so im going to just have this buket
