Waterbox frag 175 build thread

That's a sweet looking tank! Love the low lagoon style tanks; i really do!

What livestock are you planning to have? :)

I’m more of a coral guy but I’m coming around to having more fish… definitely a clown fish pair, 1-2 tangs, a wrasse, a goby , some chromis, and a trio of cardinals would be suffice for me

Great looking tank! I'm just now seeing it!

I’m thinking about switching out the filter socks for a klir automatic 7inch drop in filter roller but would I need 2?
I saw on the website the smaller version can but ran as two master and Slave but it doesn’t not say that for the 7 inch… any insights?

I read that the 7" also can run master/slave.

I ended up buying two of the klirs so I guess we shall see… getting home rom vacation and should have many presents on the porch in the days after coming home and should be able to have water in the tank buy next week… I bought aqua forest dry rock is there anything I should do to it before adding water to the tank? Should I add any of the cycling bottles dr. Tim’s ?

Started the reefing journey back in 2011 and had my tank running until 2021 when I moved from my parents house and didn’t have room for the tank. I now have the space and opportunity to get back into the hobby. I couldn’t just go small and put the old 65 tall back up so I went and purchased a new Waterbox infinia frag 175.6.loved how much it comes with for the price as I already have a lot of equipment. excited to have the tank of my dreams and start a new journey. It arrives Monday so the build starts then. Plan is to take my time and do it right .
Looking forward to seeing your aquarium.

That is in the same range of the Vectra M2, so similar of what Waterbox is suggesting.
You will not get 10x turnover, as you do not want your pump to run 100% all the time, but that is not needed neither.
While adjusting the drain valve, you can look for a sweet spot at the given setting of the pump.
I ended up going with the 10k it was only 20 bucks more so

Any input would be greatly appreciated been reading a lot about the woes of cycling with dry rock and it’s scaring me…

I have used a combination of dry and live rock always. You can start with dry rock, but you will have to be more patient as the tank will need more time to mature.
About curing dry rock, I cannot say anything as I have not done that before but many swear about doing that first.
seeding with beneficial bacteria is important always.

Made some progress to the tank as I have been getting packages in the mail the skimmer is a lot bigger than I expected but that won’t hurt anything
