Hi all,
I’ve been lurking on this forum for a bit and have finally had a reason to post something.
I ordered a Waterbox last month and have had it set up since.
Two days ago I noticed a “scratch” I’d never seen before. I was literally just on this side of the tank and did not notice it. As soon as I approached the tank I noticed it. it was about an inch long and resembled a crack. When I say crack I mean it refracted light like a crack does. Scratches typically don’t.
mad I was playing with it (feeling it, studying) it got bigger So I panicked and started disassembly. Now it’s two days later and I’m finally hearing back from Waterbox that their engineers decide from a few pictures that it’s either a scratch or a crack that had resulted from force. Basically my fault. I’m a liar. This is how I read the message. I did not do this. I did not hit the tank. Rock did not fall into it. You can’t even feel the crack on the inside. I’ve had nobody in my home other than my girlfriend and I. And like I said this crack Formed in front of me. I’m pretty sure I heard it crack. I heard something before I went over to the tank.
I have the tank level and it is on the leveling mat. I am 100% positive this is some sort of stress crack or a flaw in the glass somehow.
I feel like I have no power to prove to this company I am not a liar and looking for a free tank. But I am dang sure not filling it back up and risking my house being flooded. I don’t know what to do. Has anyone had anything like this happening ?

If it started at around 1" and has increased to this size, you either have a turbo snail dragging around a micro diamond or this flaw was always present in the tank and has been increasing in size due to water, temperature, etc. I honestly wish I knew what to tell you - I can't tell whether it's a crack or a scratch; maybe some eagle-eyed members can weigh-in with additional opinions.

I'd keep at it with Waterbox in the interim. If it turns out to be a manufacturing defect they should replace it. Whether they do, however, is up in the air (I generally steer people away from Waterbox to Red Sea because Waterbox has an absolutely atrocious track record when it comes to warranting their tanks.

Thanks for the input. It’s definitely a crack. I can feel it with my finger. Only snails were actually put in when this happened. I was actually in the middle of acclimating them.
Waterbox has not responded again after insinuating I’m a liar and now my phone calls won’t go through unless I press *67 they are basically ignoring me. I just don’t understand how a company that offers a $1300 premium product treats people this way. Their response to this was literally two sentences. I’ve spent over $2000 with them in the last month and probably thousands more throughout the lifetime
Of the tank if I was a happy customer. I am genuinely disgusted with this company and I will keep at it and any chance I get I will steer people away from this company
