New to the hobby. Have had a lot of freshwater tanks and decided it was time for something new. Watched a ton of you tube and reviews on different brands of tanks and decided to go with a waterbox infinia reef 190.5.

Got all the plumbing done had to order a metric to standard union to plumb the refractory smart roller. Also had to use a reducer to go back down to metric once entering the smart roller I wish there was a way somehow to get metric piping in the US but for now this works.

Took about two weeks to cycle then added my two clown Fish that I had in quarantine for about a month I quarantined in a 15 gallon water box AIO. They seemed pretty happy to have a big tank with sand and rock.

Originally got these heaters in hopes that they would work that ended up not being the case barely could hold 76° and showed condensation within them after about three weeks ended up upgrading to innovative marine Helio

Fast-forward a couple weeks wanted to try a couple easy corals found a local reefer with a website and ordered some stuff for pick up. He was out of stock of what I wanted. He ended up, giving me a bunch of free stuff, including a couple acros my first thought I’m gonna kill all this stuff but we’ll see how it goes

Here comes the ugly stage. It came on pretty hard not sure if was 100% diatoms initially, but it quickly turned to dinos I had already preemptively bought a UV sterilizer and plumbed it directly from the return pump to the display because I was planning on getting a powder blue tang, and lower the risk for parasites I believe I ended up getting the large cell Dino because the UV sterilizer seem to have no effect. Also ended up switching the single arm mounts to the Eco Tech rail mount because of sagging.

I made it to get the dinos to clear up 90% Mainly by dosing, nitrate, phosphate, phytoplankton, adding pods Also, in this picture, I received my powder, blue tang, and a male lyertail anthia which I sourced through Dr. Reef. I also have another order with him that I am waiting on with three female lyertails and melnarus wrasse.

The tank has been clearing up quite well corals all seem happy noticing a lot of growth have managed to stabilize, nutrients without dosing

Attached is a recent video of the tank.
This photo I took today the lfs got a bunch of Fiji colonies in that he was selling for extremely cheap decided to send it for only 100 bucks. He’s had them for about three weeks now and they’re finally starting to color up so we’ll see how I do with it, about 350 to 360 near the peak of the colony.
