Big thanks to Matt Coddington and Octoaquatics. The lid for my water
20191106_131422_HDR.jpg
box arrived today, earlier than expected, and I couldn't be happier.

Sweet lid though. Been looking into similar for my RSR170. That screen top I have is getting on my nerves at feeding time...and cleaning time...and at save the self destuctive non self righting astaera snails.

And the inevitable is?
Saltwater is corrosive to metals and conductive to electricity.

To illustrate. I had my power bar (recommended highly with switched sockets) on a small stand about 3 ft away from the tank. During normal maintenance some water droplets landed on the power bar. Of course, I didn't see that, I saw the smoke rising from the affected outlet. There was maybe one - two drops of water around the power bar. Doubt I'd seen if I wasn't looking. Luckily I was home and just unplugged it.

With power bar on top of tank (as the pic shows - that may not be the case now and was only temporary - if so, then never mind) it's not a matter of "if" but "when" spray, gravity or salt creep show their lack of concern for your health and safety.

Again, if this was temporary and you have your power bar in a good location with protection against spray, then this is more for other folks reading this thread. But I wouldn't feel right if I didn't caution you on that setup and something happened.
