So I’ve recently purchased my second saltwater tank being the Waterbox marine x 60.2 and I decided to have custom hard plumbing, problem being the only coloured pvc available Is in imperial measurements and the Waterbox comes standard as metric, took a lot of time for me to figure out how I was going to configure this build as the conversion was very confusing and time consuming as my first time plumbing , and so Ive decided to make this thread to save anyone who wants to do similar some time and money. any questions feel free to ask I’ve made this thread to help seeing as I’ve not seen any threads on this so far :)

This is great help, thank you! Are the 25mm to 3/4" couplers hard to find? Doubt my local Ace has them.

@ellisbart curious how you took the factory WB plumbing apart? Heat gun to soften the glue? Did you have to cut anything first? I have a 220.6, thinking about updating my plumbing but just nervous of any issues seeing as the system is already established and running. I don't want to ruin the existing parts, especially the union and gate values.

Manage to find any? If your based in U.K. charterhouseaquatics.com has them

I cut the gate valve out of the waterbox plumbing but left enough room above and below it for a 25mm to 3/4’ coupling so that the blue 3/4 plumbing could be attatched to each side. The glue they use actually melts and bonds the plastic together so they are inseparable once together meaning a heat gun won’t work.

Nice dude! looking good.
Question for you @ellisbart
How do you find the 60.2 space wise for the display. decent size for a smaller tank?

thanks

It’s good for a cube tank, can be a little awkward to have a good looking scape but planning will help with that. Would have preferred the waterbox Frag 55 dimension wise but they discontinued that model :(

@ellisbart what is your equipment list?
curious to know what you've picked out.

Looks good, I too just received my new tank, a Waterbox MarineX 110.4.

That's good info on the plumbing, I too ran into this because I am not using the included Waterbox sump but rather a Trigger Platinum 26in with the fleece roller which uses 1in connections.
For those in the US, BRS sells the metric - imperial couplers which is what I am using.
