Waterbox Peninsula 5526

Hello,

I am looking for a new tank and thinking about getting waterbox peninsula 5526. I am just concerned that the tank is rimless with 24” tall. Is this safe for long term? Or should I look into 130.4 instead? I love the look of peninsula, but with all those Redsea tank failing, I want to be very careful about my decision. If you have 5526 or 130.4, please share your experience.

I'm sure it's fine, I haven't heard of any waterbox issues like with red sea and maybe i'm mistaken but red sea issue wasn't directly related to the tank but was something to do with the stand causing twisting/stress on the glass.

I really wish these manufactures would offer eurobracing on these larger rimless tanks.

I don't have either, but do have a Waterbox 180.5. The glass is 3/4 inch on all sides. I've had the tank wet for only a few months, but have zero concerns thus far.
Are you in Jax FL?

I have this exact tank and love it. Have not had any issues with leaks or bowing. The stand is very sturdy and easy to keep clean. I’ve had it for about 10 months. The sump is huge and can fit plenty of equipment. I guess as with anything, a defect is always possible but so far so good with mine.

I have the waterbox 70.2. It is 21” tall, and no issues so far. Been here since Sept.

I have a 5526. Waterbox is awesome. First, the plumbing is lightyears better than Red Sea. Their customer service is top notch. Ive had zero issues with mine.

Beautiful tank! I was just little concern about the long term safety because glass is slightly thicker than 1/2” and it is 24” tall. But I guess I shouldn’t worry too much!
