Waterbox Peninsula Mini Build

Hello everyone so after a little while debating if I should jump in the hobby again I decided to pull the trigger on the new Waterbox Peninsula Mini just placed my order last week.

Will be updating as I go so far it is the 15 gallon all in one with the AI prime, has not shipped yet can’t wait.

07/19/2020 bought a stand at Ross $86.

Aquarium dimensions are 14” wide 20” long and 14” height.

Stand dimensions are 14” wide 22” long and 24” hight.

Tank scape is in honestly just wanted a minimalist scape no effort at all plan on covering it with zoas.

I cycled the tank using the Fritz TurboStart 900 and AlgaeBarn NitroCycle did a water change 8 days later after testing resulted were as follows.

Zero Ammonia
Zero Nitrite
50 PPM Nitrate
And don’t have a test for Phosphate yet

I will test my Nitrate again this Friday and will perform a 5G water change too.

Little something I won over at Marine Depot and tank clear in the background won’t be turning on the light for the next 3 months or sow just so the bacteria establishes completely. Wanna avoid that nasty stage as much as I can.

hi, nice tank! how's your progress? i was thinking about getting this tank as well. Can you tell me the dimensions of the middle chamber? The specs on the website don't make sense. It says it's roughly a 3"x3" but looks bigger in their pic. I was going to try and do chaeto in the middle chamber but not sure how that will work. Thanks!

Hello so the back middle chamber Looks like it is 5 1/2 inches and 3 1/8 inches wide I will attach photos.

Side note I ordered the InTank media basket for chamber one that is designed for the cube10G Water Box and it fits perfect just need to remove the 2 acrylic strips that hold the original filter sock and it slide in no problem.

On that note I order the one for chamber two hoping it would fit unfortunately it did not fit because of the baffling inside I also want to convert that middle chamber in to a small chaeto reactor using the innovative marine LED.

Attached you will find the baffling I was talking about.There is a video on YouTube someone got the middle media basket for the 10G and had to modify it too so maybe I will modify it too if I don’t de I to send it back.

Currently I’m just depending on the refugium and water change every other week. No skimmer.

Are u running a wavemaker? I'm considering the Nero3 but May not need more flow than what the return does

Not currently but the original return pump is not the best i am considering the same pump your considering too.

Just got mine filled up. I dont like the way the return port isn't adjustable

Nice your running the Kessil.

I don’t like the return Pump much I’m not sure but I’m not running a water heater because my tank temperature is always 80F maybe it’s where I’m from but my house A/C is always set to 75F and tank is always warm. My house was built this year and is well insulated. I’m blaming the return pump causing the heat I don’t have any other equipment in there.
