watermelon chalice developing orange pigments

thought this was interesting, I've had this wild colony of watermelon chalice for a bit over a year now. It's been mounted on a slope for several months. I did some re-arranging today and popped it off its perch while I pulled some nuisance algae from behind it and I noticed the shaded spots had developed a funky orange color.
I circled the orange spots in the one pic because the camera didn't pick them up very well. Pretty nifty :-).

That's a very sweet wild colony Tony. Can you cut me a piece for the upcoming swap if you have enough to make a frag?
