Has anyone had experience/success with using silicon on a lowes/home depot bucket lid to make it air tight? or does anyone know if they sell a rubber washer that fits around the lid? the buckets at my local store don't have any rubber/silicon sealing the lid and bucket.

Add this if possible to bucket, sold at home depot $8? Gamma lid

bingo! thank you @Jomama. ill head to lowes and grab a couple. still thinking of a way to buy a normal lid that seals, i feel like I've seen these before!

Tried to make a bucket “fuge” a couple of weeks ago. Ended up scrapping it and doing a regular one. The gamma seal will make a bucket air/water tight for sure. Hammer the seat of the gamma lid onto the bucket. Also add a small amount of Vaseline to the threads so you can screw it in tighter.

Fair warning, i almost broke my thumb tightening it. Can’t explain how I did it through a text post, but it seems like you can never get it completely screwed in. Be careful when you’re tightening its fully sealed before you “finish” screwing it in [emoji23]
