I'll be putting a tank on top of carpet in the family room in the near future (Edit: I should clarify that I'll actually be cutting the carpet away directly under the tank, but it will be in the rest of the room directly surrounding it). Luckily I'll be replacing the carpet as well before hand.

I plan to get padding that has a waterproof barrier on it and I'll make sure I get some kind of stain resistant/durable carpet.

While the carpet is up do you guys think I should try to waterproof the osb underneath the carpet/tank? Any particular suggestions for how to do this?

I built a 2" deep tray in the bottom of my stand to catch any leaks. I used Thompson's water seal just for that part. I unfortunately had it tested just recently... The Thompson's held up fine. [emoji4]

Think walk in shower. The tile guys us them to line under the tile, is is a playable liner.
