Waterproofing Wood Aquarium Stand

I want to paint my stand white and make it waterproof, what do you suggest I use? White marine paint? White Concrete waterproof sealent? White latex paint and then polycrylic or polyurethane? White epoxy paint?

So many people say "kilz" but there are about 6 different types of kilz lol. I can't make up my mind!!!

Short answer no. I used minwax stain and clear coat from Home Depot. I did paint the inside of thee canopy white, but can't remember the brand. It was from Home Depot as well and high gloss

But the inside of the canopy has held up with the 3 clear coats. Also there is not a fan in the canopy.

Yes I have the white appliance epoxy paint inside my stand which is MDF. It's holding up great

Nice, what type of brush or roller did you apply it with? I've heard it's messy and hard to work with. Any tips?

I used a pool liner with egg crate. If u wanna go that route cost me 25 dollars

Well it also comes in liquid quarts which I chose because I find spray paint to be difficult in certain situations and I can't use it indoors for my stands size, I'd pass out. Was it easy to spray or did it come out extra thick or gloppy or anything?

I plan on using shower pan liner in the bottom of my stand as well, but I'm waterproofing the entire thing.

It's super easy in spray can just like any other spray paint. It has regular consistency not thick or anything. I did mine outdoors before I put together the stand.

Not all spray paints are easy, some run a lot and leave thin uneven coats. I find it a lot easier to paint by brush or roller. Glad to know the consistency is similar though. Regardless, I built my stand in place indoors so it's not an option anyway, was just curious. Thanks
