Pw that come with controllers have pulse modeI want the On off effect so the corals sway side to side
You would have to replace the koralia with another sw4 to have them sync up and make that effect.im wanting the swat wave effect on my 36g bow atm I have a koralia 525 will a sw4 jebao work for waves
Complete nonsense as usual...I have heard back n forth waves do stress silicone seals especially if the tank isn't perfectly squared up.
That's we why I have two Vortechs and using Reef Crest mode. The two independently speed up and slow down causing complete lovely water chaos in my tank....then at night they power down to 50% power
I also heard Jabeo also run very hot and could catch fire. This info came out of the mouth of a major CEO of a major online retailer at a Reef Convention. Stood right next to them
There’s no need to say “complete nonsense as usual”. If you don’t like what he has to say just move on and give your suggestion. You would have to replace the koralia with another sw4 to have them sync up and make that effect.
Complete nonsense as usual...
I agree that would probably be best, and I usually do. I suppose it gets tiresome seeing that user throw out crazy stuff all the time. There’s no need to say “complete nonsense as usual”. If you don’t like what he has to say just move on and give your suggestion.
To be fair, a back and forth wave does create a tremendous amount of force and it can be a very real threat in large tanks. Several hundred to several thousand pounds of water sloshing around is no joke and can cause problems.I agree that would probably be best, and I usually do. /But to be fair, I'm not disagreeing with how he keeps his pumps. That's fine and valid, but it's nonsense to say Jebao pumps "run very hot and could catch fire". And the bit about wave mode putting stress on silicone, come on. lol Sure, maybe some amount, but enough to be worried about? I don't buy it. Reminds me of the alarmists saying black boxes will catch fire.
As could happen with any electrical connection where corrosion is allowed to happen. The increased resistance causes heat which can melt wire shielding etc. Was that controller box in a stand with a sump?I don’t know what part of the pump this ceo is talking about. BUT here’s a melted part to one of my older ones. Connector was corroded or loose and did get hot.![]()
That said I have a new one on my tank now waving away.
I'm very skeptical that even in a large tank it would be an issue. I'm well aware sloshing water can create a huge amount of force but with the little bit of wave motion these powerheads are able to create I just don't see it. Maybe I'm wrong on this one instance, but I'm quite active on this forum and I see that user over and over again put out a lot of objectively bad advice. And the OP has a 36 gallon tank.To be fair, a back and forth wave does create a tremendous amount of force and it can be a very real threat in large tanks.
