I’m sorry to jump in here but I have a wavepuck that ran for three weeks then died. I get an E1 message which indicates something has gotten stuck. Problem is we can’t figure out how to take it apart. There are two small tabs on the back but they’re too tight to move.

Can anyone help?
Same fault I had check the motor cable< make sure the cable connection is fully seated before securing with retaining nut, reboot, also another had a pin break on that connection. that's all i am aware of other than contacting Coralveu ....Good Luck and keep me posted

You could also try to spin the impellers to free the jam if it is jammed.

I cannot count how many times I almost purchased these. What's the feedback after all these months of service?

Well after 6 months of service it had stopped running with no error code and I swapped it out with the new Octo 2, as I mentioned elsewhere the pump was coated in coraline and needs a good cleaning, I did do a vinegar soak and when i get time I will get into it. FYI I an realy liking the octo pump and time will tell on that one as well.

Thanks for your feedback. The Octo is nearly double the money. What made the puck desirable is its price point, provided it can keep on spinning.

I just had my first experience with Smart trade Warranty, It was quick and painless and with this type of inexpensive equipment I will use it again and try different things, the 5-10 bucks for a year trial is cheap, and if it last more than a year its a keeper. I believe 2 & 3 year plans are available too.

Smart Trade? through which retailer?

Did these things end up working out? Seems like a high failure rate based on the posts in this forum.

No. But AI just reinvented it, or purchased their patent and made their own version. It's called the AI Nero 5. I'm waiting for info on it.

Mine stopped working after 6 months although it was caked with coraline. I cleaned it up and tucked it away and will get around to looking at it soon. I did replace it with the Octo pump 2 from reef octopus and I really like it so far, thats been running for 3 months. It has the same magnet mount as the wave but not as much articulation, I only wish I had purchased the larger octo 4 for a even wider flow pattern. I run the 2 on a random pattern at about 60% BTW love the octo controller simple touch of a button flow pattern no guessing or app. set it and forget it.

I seen that. It does look identical but you need a app to run it and make adjustment, I suppose some like that. Doing a WC last night I just reach down and hit a button with my wet hands done. Some one has a new flat profile they showed at macna maybe that was the AI

Such promising product one would think and at a great price point. Is the manufacturer not standing behind it?

I don't care for the BT LE controller of the AI unit ($300!) I prefer buttons/display on an actual unit and if I'm going to spend $300 on a powerhead I'm more than likely going to look at Tunzes

Everyone who had problems sent a ticket and I have not heard a response from anyone! I know I did not hear back. Btw The controller on the octo and my RO skinner Verios pump is the same platform, all Ihear on that is that it's well liked. I have a MP40 that I odiously like, Its a strong pump but I like the octo controller for the control is easy to understand.

For what it's worth my two are still chugging along.

Had it since day one.

I upgraded to the octo for more gph moved the two to my other tanks.

Great to hear,

i've had mine sitting in boxes for a week now. just waiting to figure out where to put more controllers and wires or run it off my reef angel controller. running a couple MP10's with a maxspect gyre, modded moceans oscillator and mounted aquagadget wave link 2300. lots of flow but the MPs are noisy and one is cr@ppping out. figured i try these as replacements for my side to side flow and mount the properly functioning MP off the back under the gyre.

i'll report how the pucks perform

will do

just hoping they aren't too unsightly since they stick out quite a bit more than the Ecotechs in the tank. My tank is a 24 x 24 x 24 cube and my Ecotechs have been running a long time, but now after a few wet side replacements and now a dry side going out, i figured what the heck, the pucks are fairly cheap. Here's to hoping the pucks work out well with that broader flow.
Oh, and i like that i wont have adhesive zip tabs on the outsides of the glass to hold the MP wires. i have good spots set up for them to where the in-tank cable wont be too obtrusive.

have you checked out the ice cap 1k , I would 1 and 1 . Just saying

have one :)
i had the maxspect on one side and the ice cap on the other and didn't like the look. It's now a back up for the maxspect. the cage of the ice cap appears stronger than the maxspect. i've already cracked a few fins with the maxspect while cleaning, but it's still working fine after some super glue.
