My mp40s. Whenever they change mode from constant to, reef crest. They change my sump water level, and trigger my ato to run. Constant mode on the wave maker 75% keeps the water level stable below the emergency pipe by an inch. Even less so its quiet and stable.. i switch to reef crest the water in my overflow box drops 2 inches maybe less. And by that my sump water level drops a tint bit enough to trigger my ato sensor. Its not an issue with my return pump. Because i tested it without wave makers and it stays stable for days.

Im really starting to think waterbox tanks are not really what they are first they sent me a defective plumbing. Where the plumbing is drilled too close to the overflow box. And then they sent me spare parts to cut and adjust the emergency height myself. Its insane..

Would it work to move your ATO sensor down slightly further? That or maybe dial back to the speed on the MP40s when in reef crest mode?
U move the ato sensor slightly further it would work. And then the mp40s mode changes from reef crest to constant and then lift the water higher. I swear i cant catch a break with this build

Its not anything other than the height/weight of water at the grates of your overflow that causes the level of the sump to change a bit. I used to use an optical ATO and had the same issue but for different reasons. In my case when my filter sock began to clog up it would allow water to back up in the overflow box and cause the sump level to drop and trigger the ATO to fill it back up. After several months of this I ditched the optical ATO and now I use a Litermeter to dispense a given amount of water per day which has kept my salinity rock solid. It took a few days of adjustments to the amount of water added but now that it's dialed in I will never use an optical ATO again.

A good friend of mine, 4D Aquatics, makes nozzles for MP40s that will allow you to direct the flow from them, maybe you could benefit from a minor change in the direction of flow away from your overflow to help with your issue. Just a thought.

I dropped the wave makers to 50%, and it fixed the issues now it goes up and down but not as bad. As before. Im guessing those wave makers are too powerful? Pushing too much water in the drain?

Not gonna lie thats an insane weird issue. Lower the pump speed helped me with those fluctuations. At 55% it happens but not as bad as before. Its like the mp40s linked to the return pump i cant catch a break if someboy have any info thank you
