i now use 4 tunze 6200's on a controler along with a sequence hammer head pump

I have two of the Hagen 802's and then two other smaller ones.

I think I'm going to replace the smaller ones with maxi jet 1200's soon.

I should have asked everyone to post size of tank also.

I doubt 4 tunze 6200 would work to well in a 37 :)

Can you say "there's no place like home"?

Good idea on the poll, but the problem with a lot of polls is that it asks people what they have, not what is best. Imagine if everyone had the oppurtunity to sample all the options you listed above. I'm sure that with time everyone would find their favorite, and that may not necessarily be what they currently have.

If I had to vote for what I wish I had then it would go.

1) Return pump w/ SCWD or OM squirt
2)Seio or Tunze
3)A few MJs modified or on a wave timer

Excellent point fickle. I made the assumption that everyone had unlimited funds and therefore have decided what was best for them. (I don't mean that to sound like a dip at you BTW) :)

Over the decade that this tank has been running, I have tried all the above on my 90. I'm now running a single tunze along with a dual return from the main pump (genX). It's alot of flow.

In my zoo tank (40) I'm just looking for ideas to improve the quality of water movement without beating everything up.

I gotta question for you, my genX was so loud that I just had to pull it out off my tank. Is yours quiet at all? If so what are your suggestions.

I haven't done any Tunze pumps because I don't have the space in a 20g and it would be too much flow in there. I plan on getting some better pumps in my new tank so I would vote for both a return with a tunze added in there to change things up. So to be safe, Tunze!

haha yes your right the tunze would NOT be a good idea. well unless you turned them WAY down which would defeat the purpose of having them.
the ones i have are in a 270

My genx was loud because I have hardwood floors and the cabinet rests directly on that. I put a piece of carpet under the pump to insulate it and all is well.

? for you. What tunze setup for a 40?

2x 6000s? That must be some crazy water movement.
I have them set at 40% and pulsing at 60%. My tank is barebottom so when I do a waterchange I try to vacuum up any crap thats under the rockwork. All I have to do is turn the tunzes to 100% and all the crap just goes flying. LOL

I have 2-tunze 6000 on my 58gal. They're controlled by a 7095 multicontroller.

Same here, but on a 125 gallon (might be 10 gallons larger, not sure, lazy to do the math). It did have 4 when I bought it, but in my mixed reef there were alot of unhappy customers... so had to ditch 2 of them.
