I have been running 2 koralia 1050s and 2 koralia nano powerheads on my 65 gallon. I just had 1 of the 1050s go out on me. I saw a wp 40 on eBay that says its a new style that is speed controllable. Will one of these be ok to run in my tank. Too much, or to little?

it will blow the water out.... well not totally but yes. too much. Ihave a pair on my 180. they are very strong.

That stinks. The 25 and 40 are only about ten dollar difference. It says in the description that it can be adjusted between 3,000 - 13,000 l/h (792 - 3,434 gph), Is this false? I have been told before that it would be too much, but I figured by it having the capability to adjust the speeds it may work.

Thanks

Thanks guys, wp 25 it is. Will 1 wp 25 run my whole tank or do I need to still use the 1 koralia 1050 and the 2 nanos with the wp 25?

Gonna be a lot of flow for a 65 gallon tank. By itself, you will have really strong flow in some spots and dead zones in others. Although I hate that the WP-25 cost as much as the wp-40, two of the smaller ones would be the best option. Since you already have the Multiple Hydor pumps, you could very well go with a single WP-25 to give the tank a random flow then put all Hydor pumps in areas of the tank where they would not be seen, such as some in the back.

This would give you plenty of flow in the tank, some random flow and cover the dead-zones. With a wp-40, your tank would not be catching much of a break since the minimal flow is about 800 gph. The max flow is about 3400 gph which can be a bit much if you don't have plenty of open water to catch the flow. The smaller WP-25 puts out 1000-2100 GPH and is 1/3 the size. Much better option.

Perfect. I was just reading that the night sensor could be damaged by high output light leds,mh, etc. and is not covered by warranty. Has anyone had any issues? Is there a way to protect it?

I have mine in the hood. Not directly under my less but close. It is wired up to both controllers under the tank. Does a good job. In pitch black, it does not work. It needs moonlight to go to night mode. It is a very simple photocell that is open when exposed to daylight conditions.

Yea. I don't mean to hijack your thread but I got a new skimmer. I also got a new ecobak reactor (Reef Octopus). Tank is doing great. Just saving up for more fishes.
