I have a 29 gal reef tank and I wanna put a controllable wave maker in it. im undecided between a vertech mp 10 or a Jeboa rw 4 or 8 any opinions would help out!

I have a rw4 in my 20 high, it's a little too strong on full strength wave mode. I had to turn it down a tad. For me the Jebaos are great, especially considering the price difference!

I've had great results with Aqua Medic EcoDrift Controllable power heads which are similar to the Jeboa's. Quiet with a few wave making options and easy on the wallet compared to Vortechs.

I recently got a mp10wes and I will 110% say now that if you can swing it they are worth every cent, but a used one for a decent price and from what I have seen you can easily get your money back if you don't like it. I have this one on my 15g AIO.

The mp10 has a clean look and gives you a lot more room in your tank. I don't think any other pumps is that short in term of the wet side. The RW4 is super small too for their output. However, the rw4 is not proven and might get weaker fast like within 1 year. You can buy quite a few RW4 for the same amount for 1 MP10 :)

I wouldn't say the mp10 is way better than the 6040. They are different pumps. The 6040 is small and I'd take it over any of the others if I could get it down behind my rocks without seeing the cord. That what it's made for. And the mp10 is sleek and can only be pointed in one direction.

If my tank was big enough I'd have a 6040 behind the rock work and a mp10 on the glass.

The Jebao RW-8 is way to strong for a 29g tank. Even on it's low settings it will throw things around in your tank. I have one in my 55 gallon tank. I also ran an RW-4 in my 29 gallon tank before my upgrade.

Definitely an RW-4 for a 29g imo.

Which jebao pump would you run in a 40b? I have two sicce nano pumps (530gph each) currently and I'm just setting the tank up, but I plan to get a wave maker too.

In my 40b I have a wp25 and an rw4. I'm soon going to ditch the wp25 and order an rw8. Great pumps for the money IMO

Here is a video of my 55g running 1 Jebao RW-8 in it's reef mode at it's lowest setting.

Ignore the strange music in the background. My son is playing on his tablet.

I like Tunze products too. They are very quiet and reliable.

Would you say an rw-4 along with my two sicce power heads would be enough flow for most corals? I also have a little bit of flow from my return pump. Sicce power heads are 530gph each.

I don't see why it shouldn't be enough... All depends on your aquascape and where you place the power heads..

Just set it up last night. Lights make the picture bad but it looks amazing to me in person.
