I'm in the process of upgrading to a new waterbox 230.6. Previously I had a RedSea 300xl and had a Nero 5 on each side of the back wall blowing towards the front. Now I'm thinking I'm gonna position my wave makers at the ends and push water across the long way. I suspect the Nero 5's may not be up to the task. Anyone used Nero 7's yet? I was pretty happy with the 5's, so considering upgrading to the 7's for this task. The other alternatives being the tried and trusted MP60's/40's.

Looking for any suggestions/advice. The tank is an SPS dominant mixed reef.

Even with Nero 7’s? I don’t think there’s a ton of info out there yet on their performance.
likely why he didn’t suggest them.

i’m partial to the nero’s only because that’s what i have personal experience with. i did lose a pump due to my own negligence though(i believe)

I'm in the same boat with a new 220.6. Went with 2 x Jebao SOW-22 as my current slw 20's (which i love) magnets wont hold on 19mm glass.

I have maxspect gyre xf350 on each end and Octo pulse 4 on the back. This combo is controlled by the wave engine and gives me unlimited combinations of glow patterns.

Added one of the Jebao SOW-22... jeez it's powerful. I've got it right down to 30%. Having serious second thoughts adding the second as I've got a mixed reef and worried LPS will get blown to death.
