I don't want to spend a lot I have a 60 gal cube.

No ecotech but I would like to use a controller with them hydor koralia 24x24x24

Medium to high water flow can I use the hydor controller with just about any type of wave maker.

Take a look at the Seio Prop pump with an IR remote control. I saw one pump create a sizeable wave in a 75g tank, it was a long tank not a cube, but the pump got the water moving.

You could go with a koralia pump and a coralife wave maker strip. They are in expensive and do i great job. Be carefull when buying pumps because some of them do not do well when they are tuned off and on repeatly.

I have the 500 GPH version of these and they do great for additional flow in my 90... here is the 1600gph versions...my 500's are silent and they have magnet mounts...only thing that stinks is seeing the cords, but my background is black so the blend in.

I have the Sieo 1100s as my main wave maker... here is the controller I have... you can get pumps from 100 GPH to 2600 GPH... this controller is cool because it doesn't just shut one off and turn on the other, it ramps up and down between 50% and 100% power.... I'ts not the cheapest option unless you get the deal I cot on the controller (25$ discontinued item at salty supply)

New pump that is a knockoff of the ecotechs is the jebo WP40.. There is a thread on RC about it. I'm gonna get one soon. The 40 is a big one but supposedly supposed to have a 25 version also. Comes with a controller and has different modes. Think it's just about $100. If you can't find any info let me know I'll send some links if interested.

Thats what I started with... although I did not buy JBJ pumps... I used aqueon and quickly found out that the constant switching on and off rips them apart... but the JBJ pumps are made work with the DUO controller, mine are silent... but not sure about the higher GPH... keep us posted on how you like it

I currently have 4 of the jbj 1600, they move some water but its kinda wide and gentle not hard on anyyhinh

I have 2 JBJ Oceanstream 1600s on a Red Sea Wavemaster Pro. The JBJ powerheads are bulletproof and completely silent.

Glad you like 'em. I'm thinking of getting the smaller JBJs for my other tank once I get the controller finished so I have something to plug them into.
