Wave makers

how can I protect my fish from being hit by wave maker. Over the past two days I have lost a regal tang, that was its own fault as the fan WAS on a timer so it came on for four hours twice a day and the tang decided to swim inside it. But today I've woke up and discovered my nem had been sucked in and mauled by the fan.
Feeling sick isn't the word.

What kind of wave maker are you using that a tang could swim inside? Everyone I have seen has protective grills around it.. As far as anemones I don't own one for that reason, they will always end up where you don't want them

I have a small blue strip cleaner goby he could fit into my Jebao wave makers but thankfully he's not that dumb. My rbt is happy so far in his rock so it's not moving.

I have a jaebo rw15 and my tang was only an inch or so long. It swam through the the front when the vent was off.

Could I use a desk fan? I think the increased water movement would get rid of any dead spots.

No don't use a desk fan. Only thing I can suggest is to not have them on a timer and have them run all the time. Why do you have it on a timmer?

I was only joking about the desk fan.
It was stupidity thought it was a good idea at the time to have it on a timer. Giving a tide type feeling.

If you have more than 1 and both are set at different intervals and speeds, then the water movement will never flow the same.
