On my tank i use 2 main fixtures. 4 bulbs. T5s. They are those white plant grow fixtures. I had a 24 inch one from a hexagon reef and bought a 48 inch fixture to make 72 inchs. To cover my 135 when i transitioned to my 135 2 years ago.

Its been working great. Grows anything i want, about 8 months ago i added 2x36 inch Beamswork DA FSPEC leds to it as i had them laying around when the 135 was fresh water. I only use the blue led setting. As it makes the corals really glow when i shut off my t5s.

I also added some older t5 fixtures i had laying around. They are normal output aqueon fixtures i bought like 10 years ago. But they work. And they add two more t5s to the 4 i have. Normal output or not it adds par. Its been doing great.

But ive been thinking, instead of running 3 ATI blue plus and 3 ATI coral plus i could swap out the two bulbs in the two normal output fixtures for some actinic bulbs ti give the tank more pop.

Would this work ? Or would it make no difference with the blue leds i have on already ?

Also i was thinking of getting wave point bulbs for the normal output fixtures. Instead of ATI. For a 4 pack of reef wave bulbs ( actinic) id only spend $60. Vs ati at 96$.

Anyway, has anyone used the actinic bulbs from reef wave. How did they compare to atis actinic ? Did they help make the corals pop more or no ?

I had a Wave Point light a number of years ago and used Wave Point bulbs in it initially. The colors were not too impressive and I found ATI bulbs in the fixture gave a better result.
