Hi guys, go easy on me, this is my first post and apologies in advance as I am sure this is a topic thats been raised a thousand times before...just point me in the right direction if so :)

Anyway...so ive rescaped my reef recently (750l system (6x2x2 display and 4ft sump)) and incorperated some coves and caves in the form of 3 islands. During the rescape I began to thik about flow and to start with updatedmy return pump from an eheim compact 5000+ to a DC controlled 12000. Unhappy with some debris and deadspots in my tank I also added a Jebao CP-25 to the existing pair of RW15's, as thought i now have a lot of flow, too much perhaps?

I'm looking for advice on placement of the wave makers/pumps and again any help or guides with the settings i should be looking to use (ps the RW15's are controlled via the Coral Box AquaLink so are fully programable)

Attached below is a diagram of my tank/aquasacpe...the RW15's are placed on above one another with a gap of 10"

Any halp would be greatly appreciated

Best
B

I was having problems with to much flow but didn't want dead spots back, so I aimed the heads at the surface and helped a lot. I would keep moving and playing around with them.

I would suggest placing powerheads along the longer side of glass to help move water through the rocks better. something like this

Hmm, I was thinking of the cross flow along the back....the 2 you placed at the front are actually on the front of display. Maybe I could add them to the sides?

Agree, its not ideal to place powerhead at front of tank but based on your rockscape, this would provide best flow thru/between the rocks. Ideally u want the powerheads to move water thru and between the rocks and not hit them head on at the rock's widest section or else there will be no flow behind the rocks.

Alternatively, you can rescape and move/turn the rocks 90 degrees vs current layout so powerheads can be placed at side of tank. This would appear to be the best rockscape solution so that u can place powerheads on side and the return can also be used to provide more flow thru the rocks.

That makes sense. Thanks for the advice. Gonna look at placing all 3 along the back glass first, the aquascape isn’t all that tall either. Cheers ;)

actually u may want to rethink about placing all powerheads on same side as per this good video
