I'm planning my tank upgrade and am going with a 5 foot rimless tank. I'm starting to decide on my lighting and flow, and I really like the idea of a tunze wavebox to fill the tank with a full wave type flow. However, I've heard rumors that they put too much pressure on the panels they create the "wave" against and may cause leaks or total failure. They've been around for a while, so I figure someone might know of any real experiences with this? Opinions on installing one on a rimless tank?

Tank will be a rimless 60x24x25 by planet aquarium.

I hadn't heard that! I'll see what planet has to say but sounds like I should stick with my gut and not risk it.
Not a real tunze wavebox, but my diy wavebox.
Installed on a reefer 250 rimless.
No real problem IMHO, but you have to make sure the cabinet stands rocksolid on the floor..
At first my cabinet was rocking from left to right. You can easily spot this looking at the doors, if they move even a slight bit it's not stable on the floor.

Don't mind the algae, the tanks is recently restarted.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking of diy-ing one just like this too!
I know the stand can withhold it, and feel pretty good that the 3/4" glass would have enough grab at seams.

That said I scored a sweet deal on some used wavemakers so I'll set it up with them, and decide if I want to try out making a wave box.

Looks like yours may have been an old dosing container? Thats a great idea and I think I have a couple around...

Mine is set up with WaveMakers too, the wavebox is just supplemental flow..

And it is indeed an old dosing container, works great
