I'm having some issues with the combination of these two. I'm using a jebao wp10 to create a laminar wave (I think, the water line swells front to back) the issue is the wave is setting of my ATO everytime the waterline swells. It's being triggered off and on for hours (well I have left it plugged in) until their is enough evaporation for it to stay on long enough to actually pump in any fresh water. I'm afraid of burning out the system or worse the power outlets. I'm using the tunze nano osmolator for ATO. Anyone have any similar experiences or solutions? Obviously I'm not running a sump at the moment but that is not really a solution for me in the short term. Thanks for any ideas!

This is where a sump would really help since water line stays level... but in your circumstance I'd try lowering the powerhead to create less of a wave motion at the surface. Or play with modes until you achieve the same. Having an ATO cycle that frequently will certainly reduce lifespan.

Thanks, I was mostly concerned about the lifespan. I've decided I will just plug in my ATO once a day during feeding until I can get a sump. Besides the inconvenience any thoughts?

What kind of tank and filter set ups are you running? I'm fairly new to the hobby but I solved this problem by putting my float switch in my second chamber. I have an all in one so there's a partition in the back for pumps, it's cut off from any waves made from the wp10 and it's nice to know my pump will never suck air since it has a constant water level.
