im setting up a smaller 30 gallon tank for my son .im going to have lps and softies.what wpukd u suggest as a wavemaker to get a good side to side wave going ?

I myself have an IM Nugo 30 long AIO. I use a hydor koralia nano 240. I also ordered a Tunze 6025 (which I was reccently recommended to get) this morning. I can’t speak to how the Tunze will work, but the hydor works well

Controllable is always better. I’m short on cash atm so I didn’t go for them. The wave motion is great- lots of flow. I’ll be adding acropora shortly.

Jebao wave makers, SW2 or SW4 or PP4. (I think they have a newer version, OW? I can’t keep track). They are extremely affordable, very easy to use, and have always been reliable IME. I’ve used a couple different models over the years, both lasted over 3 years before dying. Under $50 each I don’t mind replacing every few years. Doesn’t get cheaper than that for a wavemaker!

yeh 2 jebao slw-20 should do more than enough work and cost effective
unless you want 2 mp10 would work too if budget is not issue lol

how does the cord work with the screen top on? Havent set mine up yet

I popped one of the corners off. Its quite easy and doesn't have any negative side affects.

I put a Nero 3 in my 32gal and couldn't be happier.

i havent looked that closely to see how that could be arranged yet.

Jebao SOW series, I use the SOW-4. They are pretty powerful and cheap. Remember to clean it regularly, as with all powerheads.

another Jebao positive experience from me also

I have the MOW- 3 on my 15 gallon Nano and its good value with options on wave pattern/ type/ flow etc (constant wave, sine wave, lagoon type mode, and even a 10 minute Feed mode that turns of the wavemaker for 10 mins whilst you feed the corals etc)

The controller is really user friendly and instructions very clear

They have 4 models in the MOW series
MOW - 3, 5, 9 and 16 and the number represent liters per hour max they can move (3000, 5000, 9000 and 16,000 )
