Hey Guys,

So I’ve completed building a new 45 gallon setup (RSR 170), and have installed 2 x 100 L tanks outside the house - one to store freshwater for the ATO, one to store saltwater for the auto water-change. The tank is mid-cycle at the moment, and I’m in the final stages of getting the AWC tank completed.

I want to buy a cheap wavemaker for the saltwater tank to provide easy mixing. I was thinking one of the Jebao SW series (a 2 or 4 perhaps)? Just wondered if anyone had any experience with these pumps in this type of application (positive or negative), and what size might be required for the tanks I have used (https://www.bunnings.com.au/maze-100l-rainwater-mini-tank_p3130198)?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Cheers,
QLD.

Rather than a wavemaker, I'd look for an inexpensive return pump. Set it on the bottom of your 100 L storage tank and let it run full blast pointed straight up. This is what I do when I make more saltwater than I need and keep 25 to 40 gallons in a Brute for extended periods of time. I don't bother circulating my 45 gallon fresh water storage.
