Trying to decide which type of wavemaker to get for my Nuvo 20. It't between a Gyre 1k or a Jebao type. Any suggestions and insight would be greatly appreciated.

I think the 1k is going to be too much for that tank. I have one in a Nuvo 30 and It's definitely too powerful.

I have 2 1k’s in my nuvo 25. I run them at 70% and they work great. For the price they are a good option. I also found 2 at a lower speed means you need to clean them less to keep them silent. At 99% which is what I had it at with only 1 I was cleaning the pump weekly to keep the pump silent. Now I’m up to every month or two before I hear anything, and even then it it less noticeable.

Are you running bare bottom or something? I couldn't go past 10-20% when I was running my Nuvo 40, which is the same layout as the 25 but taller, or else I'd have sand and water flying everywhere.

Get the IM Might Jet pump and run in Pulse/Sine mode with a couple of RCA RFG nozzles. This is what I did with my IM20. Plenty of random flow.
