First thing first, does it add advantages to have surface agitation in the sump? Or just waste of electricity?

The water surface in my sump is so flat that you can it's not looking good, not fresh looking definitely there's a coat of bacterias on the surfaces, which I believe is normal as it's so peaceful and not being agitated whatsoever.

Second question, if wavemaker positioned in the same chamber as ATO, will it cause problem ?

Are you having PH or gas exchange or temperature issues? If not I wouldn't be concerned with it. I have little to no surface agitation in my sump, it's all in the display.

You skimmer is at least 50%of your gas exchange even if it looks flat. There is DO there [emoji4]

Also add another pump to clean that you will not see as regularly as your other ph. Not worth the maintenance, let the particles that make it fall out there. Makes vacuuming them easier.
